Social media and social recruiting for a German top retail brand
Karstadt is a 130-year-old retail company with 84 department stores, 26 sporting goods stores and an online shop (www.karstadt.com). The company has more than 25,000 employees.
Tasks: Began with general strategy development, then original idea creation and implementation to win new employees using the social web. To complement these efforts, we also created a social media newsroom. Due to the success of this project, our involvement was extended to managing the brand's overall social media activities. We are responsible for strategy and content consulting, as well as the development and implementation of all social web activities.
Ingredients: Use of our SoMo Bridge Technology, social plugins, media buys, employee training and coaching, ongoing consulting, plus developing various word-of-mouth specials, microsites and Facebook pages, blogs and mobile applications. Campaigns include Style Checker, A Night In The Store, Wish Bag, Angry Santa, Valentine's Special, Post Your Style, Easter e-Cards, Beauty Festival, etc.
Results: The initial project became one of the most successful career sites on Facebook within weeks. Karstadt received abundant positive coverage. The brand image was rejuvenated as young and trendy within that target group. conceptbakery earned an expanded agreement with the client, plus inclusion into the list of showcases at facebook-studio.com. Currently, our activities for the main brand have become one of the most successful social media programs in the German-speaking area and our work with the client continues to expand.
