What do you do if you are an airline and have an extra airplane sitting on the ground for a day? Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) answers that question for us: They are running an auction (until April 15th) for an MD80 to use on April 20th. They provide the kerosene, crew and everything else. The plane seats 150 passengers and is yours to fly to any destination in Europe (and back) for one day.
Ever thought of taking your friends or colleagues for a little ride?
The current bid required is 121,500 DKK. That is roughly $20,000 US or $133 US per seat.
The flight is starting in Copenhagen.
Only a mean-spirited person would drop their mother-in-law off in southern Spain and fly back without her.
Another mean spirited person would decide to fly north and have everybody freeze their buns off.
A not so mean spirited person would use this trip for a guerilla marketing stunt. Get the press aboard. Make it a happening.
A nice person would take some people that could never afford the trip and could use some sun for a day. Elderly…poor…children…you get the idea.
Time is running out. Hurry up.
