Bow-tie theory
The bow-tie theory is a model that categorizes all websites in on of four ways:
Core pages - Pages that are strongly linked from and linked to. The core of the web.
Origination pages - Pages that are strongly linking to pages in the core
Destination or termination pages - Pages that are strongly linked from the core but have few links back.
Isolated pages - Pages with very few links
The top three categories make up the bow-tie, the core being the center and the origination and destination pages resembling the sides.
